Hey Kacie, I was wondering if I could ask you for some advice. I have an issue with sleep. Not a diagnosed disorder or anything, but just an issue. (Tumblr and YouTube.) I just get bored within the first minute of getting in bed, so I resort to that. And three hours later, I look up, and it's already 2 AM. I'd have a much better chance of reaching my potential with proper sleep, but as stupid as it is, I'm not sure how. It's not taking a serious toll on me, but I never feel well rested. Help? xx

Hey babe, absolutely!

My brother actually just had the exact same problem. He was absolutely convinced that he was an insomniac! However, he stopped using his cell phone and watching television about an hour or two before attempting to go to sleep and reading a book instead, and his sleeping habits have DEFINITELY improved.

I’ve read that there is something with the artificial light in electronic devices that tricks your brain into staying awake longer. So, I’d definitely put down the electronics and hour or two before bed and pick up a book or listen to music. Reading always helps me fall asleep:)

Another idea to try is a bit of bedtime yoga/meditation/or stretching. All should help. Here is a good bedtime yoga video with Tara Stiles.

I’d also refrain from any extremely vigorous exercise right before bed if you have problems sleeping, sometimes a hard workout late at night gets your adrenaline levels up and makes it more difficult to fall asleep. Same with too much caffeine throughout the day.

One last tip: when you feel that you can’t fall asleep and are tossing and turning, don’t stay in your bed. Go out to the sofa or a chair and read until you begin to feel drowsy and THEN go back to bed. That way you don’t associate your bed with not being able to fall asleep, that just makes a mess.

Hope those tips help you love and you are better rested soon! :) xx

Hi! This morning, I was rushing to get out of the house on time for school, so I didn't have time to eat breakfast. Thankfully, there's a free breakfast program at my school, so I managed to get an apple and some Cheerios with milk in before class. I know it's not the healthiest, but it's a lot better than nothing, right? Cheerio, have a lovely day.

Hello love! Absolutely better than nothing, it’s a good idea to have a little something every morning even if you don’t have time for a large breakfast, just to get your metabolism going. It also helps manage your hunger levels throughout the day. Cheerios are actually one of the healthier cereals surprisingly, especially the original kind. Hope you have a lovely day as well my dear, thank you! xx

It’s weird how in animals seeing ribs/collar&hip bones is considered sick or even abusive, but in people that’s considered beautiful.

This may have just changed my life.

Wow

I just wanted to see if you thought my fitness plan was good for maintaining weight while also eating a healthy diet? I do yoga every weekday and then go hiking pretty much every weekend unless for some reason I cant. Does that seem like a good plan? Or should I be doing more cardio? I don't like most forms of cardio tho.

I think you should be able to maintain with that sort of plan. Generally the most important thing is nutrition, so keep listening to your body and eating healthily.

There’s no rule that you need to do a specific amount of cardio, yoga is a great workout and even just walking counts as cardio if you like to walk. As long as you are moving, you’re fine love:) xx
